The following day, around 11 AM, a friend reported to the family that Guthrie did not attend church, which was considered unusual. The family arrived at her home before noon, discovering her absence and promptly alerted the authorities. Search efforts commenced almost immediately, utilizing drones and helicopters, but proved fruitless. A trace of blood was discovered at the entrance of Guthrie’s house, later confirmed as hers via DNA testing; investigators have not disclosed the amount or the nature of the injury.
